The YoHero project emerged from the Axie Infinity-SM community, as a response to Axie Infinity's transition to the centralized Ronin sidechain. In pursuit of improved user experience and scalability, Sky Mavis' layer 2 solution undermined blockchain's core values of fairness and decentralization. Disappointed by this deviation, the SM community sought to maintain Axie on Ethereum. Despite community efforts to veto the move, Axie Infinity proceeded with migrating to Ronin. This led to the birth of YoHero, a more equitable metaverse, preserving the essence of blockchain and DeFi.
